Attainable + Affordable Housing in St. Paul
Our city is steadily growing, and that’s good for our future. It’s also our collective responsibility to ensure that every resident benefits from this growth. As the city becomes denser, one of the top factors in ensuring we sustain our growth is citywide access to affordable, high-quality housing and homeownership across the full range of income levels. Too many in our community still struggle to find or afford places to live, be they working parents, college students, families or individuals. This must change.
I'll work hard on the City Council to address attainable & affordable housing by:
Advocating for the construction of new, affordable, mixed-income housing
Ensuring that new housing built or rehabilitated is environmentally sound as more and more former industrial zones are converted to residential areas
Promoting and helping grow the Rental Rehabilitation Loan program and other energy efficiency programs to improve housing conditions in some of our poorest neighborhoods
Continuing to push for adequate housing funds for seniors and people with disabilities
